Q & A with Denisa Boar – Gamanza’s new Partnerships Manager
Gamanza is delighted to announce the appointment of new Partnerships Manager, Denisa Boar who joins the company in the early days of May, just in time to represent Gamanza at the upcoming Casino Beats event in Malta. Having started out in the industry at NetEnt live casino operations, Denisa moved into account management at Stakelogic, and now joins Gamanza after two and half successful years at Playson. Denisa will spearhead Gamanza’s business development activity from Malta, working across the group’s Engage (loyalty & gamification suite) and Games (arcade casino games) business units.
We sat down with Denisa on day 1, for a Q & A designed to allow our new star to express her thoughts on the industry, share some highlights from her previous experiences and provide a little insight about who she is away from iGaming!
What convinced you to join us at Gamanza and got you excited about the role?
It was Gamanza’s innovative gaming technology and commitment to creating immersive experiences for players that convinced me to join. Promoting a new genre of casino content and having the opportunity to be part of a dynamic team that pushes the boundaries of player engagement with gamification was incredibly exciting to me. Additionally, the chance to contribute my skills to a company that values innovation and creativity was a perfect fit for my career goals.
What is the biggest learning or takeaway from your time at Playson, and what is your favourite Playson game?!
The biggest learning from Playson was gaining a deep understanding of the iGaming industry, including market trends, player preferences and regulatory frameworks. Additionally, I learned how to effectively collaborate with different departments to deliver high-quality gaming products.

What about your favourite Gamanza game and why!? 🙂
Air Racer is my favourite Gamanza game so far. The classic crash mechanic and aviation theme have been given a boost with cool sounds and colourful visuals and I believe the control given to the player over the pace of the game rounds is a strong aspect for players and operators. Also, the fact you can place 3 bets in parallel and set an auto-cashout multiplier for each one means you can play with multiple strategies, which adds a lot of fun and suspense!
In your opinion, how do you feel player experiences in iGaming will evolve in the next 12-24 months, or is there a new product or innovation you’re expecting will have a major impact?
In the next 12-24 months, I expect to see more developments in innovative technology like VR/AR and blockchain platforms with more use cases being explored. I also expect iGaming technology providers and operators to focus on delivering personalised experiences, as well as a wider use of loyalty and gamification mechanics. This is why I strongly believe that Gamanza is well positioned to be a leader in this area, as more operators understand the ease at which such mechanics can be implemented technically, the entertainment and intrigue it offers players, and of course then the added value it brings to the operator.
From your experience, what has been your favourite iGaming expo/event and why? Which event have you never been to but would like to, and why?
My favourite iGaming event has been the ICE London expo because of the diversity of exhibitors, and the opportunity to network with industry leaders make it an invaluable experience. Plus the chance to see the latest innovation and trends firsthand is always exciting.
I never attended any event beyond Europe, and this is an experience I would genuinely cherish. For example, I would love to attend the Global Gaming Expo (G2E) in Las Vegas. Obviously there isn’t a more famous destination in our industry and like ICE, the expo is renowned for being one of the largest gatherings of gaming professionals worldwide. I am eager to explore the dynamic atmosphere and connect with industry colleagues from around the globe.
Tell us a bit about where you’re from originally and what you miss about home. And how about your journey to Malta, how long have you lived here and what is your favourite thing about the island?
I come from a small and beautiful village in Transylvania, Romania, called Vermes. Naturally, what I miss the most is my family, but aside from that I miss the beauty of the surrounding landscape and nature, and the delicious local cuisine. I advise anyone that visits the region to try “Sarmale”, “Ciorba de Burta” and “Papanasi” (check the recipe)!
It was almost 9 years ago that I relocated to Malta. I was seeking adventure somewhere new and was drawn by Malta’s rich history and captivating architecture. It wasn’t until some years after arriving that I entered the iGaming industry, so building a career in such a fast-paced and exciting industry, combined with the sun and sea offers a rewarding work / life balance.
So! What is your favourite hobby, your favourite time of year, and where would you most like to visit on holiday in the future?!
I enjoy various hobbies such as going to the gym, reading, dancing, traveling and photography, there is something magical about capturing moments frozen in time. As for my favourite time of year, I have a soft spot Christmas – the festive spirit, cozy gatherings, and twinkling lights always make it special.
Exploring every corner of the world is a dream of mine, especially places with rich history. Currently, Japan is at the top of my list as a dream destination to visit, to immerse myself in its culture and breathtaking landscapes.
